The Speed Capture

Ever walk down a residential street and notice a car coming towards you at a high rate of speed? The car or rather the driver refuses to slow down or move slightly away from you to avoid hitting you even if it's ever so slight.  These reckless drivers seem to have no fear if they lose control of the car or if they have to avoid someone or something who walks out into the middle of the street.

It is difficult to catch these drivers because they are driving so fast and very difficult to get their license plate number as you don't want to become their home plate.  They probably race often, but this is unacceptable on a neighborhood block where you have people who walk in the street.

The argument is that sidewalks are for people, but as we get  bigger or even wider those sidewalks seem too narrow rickety and worn to walk down. Besides people and their array of pets take up most of the area designated for those to walk thus, making people walk in to the street. I agree side walks need to be made wider to accomodate people and pets.  Pet owners do not pull their pets closer to them when another pedestrian is walking in the street and not all pets are well behaved enough to not disrupt other people who may happen to be walking down the street.

The issue here is safety and the fact that there are more cars, people and animals around means that there is less space to get around in. So how do we exist without running or knocking each other over?

The plan should be as follows:

Every city or town should survey the area for foot and car traffic. Since pets have become companions for people due to disability or some sort of therapy; they are integrated into society. At least for me animals have to evolve into a species that is able to shower, brush , dress and potty in a designated place and maybe I would think about one. I suppose people like creatures they can take care of without them talking back, arguing, beating them up or badmouthing them or causing humiliation, extreme embarassment, cheating on them, not wanting them to succeed in life or be happy and basically being unkind. Pets get away with stuff they tear things, crap where they want to and since they can't talk you spend hours evaluating their actions and spoiling them with gifts, people are not rewarded this way. Anyhow, what I was talking about. The sidewalks should be made wider to accomodate owners and their strolling pets. For cars that speed and no city or state has the money to keep an officer on fancy wheels of sorts on every block known to mankind. So what is needed is a speed capture device that captures any car going past the speed limit on any residential street. This speed capture is equipped with a camera and an infrared signal will capture the license plate so that the cars information, plate, make, model of car  can be transmitted to the police department so that a ticket can be issued to the owner of the car. The speed capture would work by sending off a sensor when a car is speeding. The speed capture is simply attached to each utility pole on every neighboring block or street.  This will deter those who continue to speed down streets without disregard for others; since speeding tickets certainly add up including license points.  The video from the speed capture will show how fast the person was going and if new licence plates are equipped with plate recognition the infrared sensor can capture the license plate information as soon as the speed capture sensor notices the speeding car. The speed capture camera will take a picture of the car and the infrared capture will obtain license plate and other information.

Speed capture should not only be used on heavily traveled roads, it is also necessary for residential areas as well.

When a speeding driver wants to take you home; take the food off of his or her plate including their mutts with, The Speed Capture!
