Many times in life we ask, how did we get here? People will answer the regular way unless they were born during a time when medical advancement paved the way for surrogate and implantable creation. We're all created by one way or another and then our lives continue on in such a way that one moment we're young in number and heart and then without stopping we find that we are middle aged or have taken on another phase in the journey of life. Should we constantly remind ourselves that our health is not only important to ourselves but to those with whom our lives may come into contact with? The more we utilize the cause and effect approach to understanding the prevention of illness and accidents, the more we use and or take precaution for not only ourselves but other lives that could be affected.

Ball Walker was a very popular and well liked guy in high school. He had all the good looks and football talent to play on a professional level. Not the smartest guy in the world. But hey, with good looks and that talent for sports he didn't need it. Ball Walker played with the semi pros for a few years and did quite well. He had a muscular build and was noticed wherever he went. As Ball Walker got older he became prone to injury due to all of the physical demands of the sport, either in training or playing in different leagues to earn a living. Ball Walker was always in good health and he would condition his body by eating the right foods along with talking vitamin supplements. Once Ball Walker reached his 40's he could no longer play let alone walk resulting from the abuse his body had taken over the years. Every day after that it was a struggle. Since he had no game to play any longer Ball Walker stopped eating the right foods and he stopped his vitamins and exercises that had kept him in shape all those years. Ball Walker took to comfort food and became overweight and all the muscle he once had became fat. Ball Walker had begun to have chest pain and shortness of breath but he refused to go to a doctor. He was embarassed at the overweight person he had become for any physician to take him serious.

Luckily, for Ball Walker he still had friends that took an interest in him despite the fact that he no longer played football on a professional level.  "I'm in bad shape!" he told his friend Basket as they sat in Ball's house. "I can barely breathe at times." "Have you seen a doctor?" Basket asked. "No, I can't go there everyone will laugh." Basket looked at Ball and said, "Listen, one day you're going to need some real help and I hope you get it before it's too late!" Ball laughed knowing that he will not know until it would be too late. Basket then pulled out a mini handheld ekg machine and handed it to Ball.

"Is this a new videogame or something?" Ball Walker asked. "No, it's a mini steering wheel EKG machine that you can clip onto your car steering wheel. "My car ain't no medical office!" yelled Ball. "You gotta have good training to use that stuff."  "Come on man, let me show you how it works." said Basket, as he walked outside and got Ball to open his car door. They both got in and Basket fastened the mini steering wheel EKG machine onto Ball's car steering wheel and he turned the monitor on. He instructed Ball to drive and to place his left palm against the device as he was driving using the steering wheel. Ball began to feel strange and stated that he needed air because he could not breathe too well. The mini steering wheel EKG machine began to sound an audio alert that indicated "atrial fibrillation with ST elevation", Ball continued to struggle. Basket then grabbed the wheel and managed to put the car in park and then he went to the drivers side of the car and rushed Ball to the hospital. It was found that Ball had heart disease that required a few stents to be placed. He also needed to lose the weight and to resume a daily regimen of healthy diet and exercise. Ball could never thank Basket enough for saving his life. "Man, I had been feeling this way for quite some time and I just ignored it." said Ball several days later as he was still in the hospital, while Basket came by to visit. "The mini steering wheel EKG machine was the big winner." said Basket, "When I ran in to go get you some help, I was able to tell the ER workers that you had gone into a-fib with ST elevation, that was how they were able to help you so quickly because you were having a heart attack." "Thanks to you I'm on the road to recovery." said Ball. "Good, I'm glad to hear it." said Basket. Ball thought and then said, "Never mind." "Never mind, what?" asked Basket. "I was just wondering, can I keep that mini steering wheel EKG machine? I mean this heart disease stuff is kinda scary and I certainly don't want to get behind the wheel and not know what condition I'm in to drive. It just makes sense to have a monitor like this just in case, you know so I can get help if I need it." "The mini steering wheel EKG machine is yours." said Basket. "Good, it was real easy to use. You can charge it by usb and update it. All you have to do is attach it onto your steering wheel and place your palm against the device. This way you know what is happening, before any doctor does." said Ball.

"Yup, it makes things a whole lot easier- so now you can just pay yourself!" said Basket. "Well, I gotta get going. I replaced that roast you had in the fridge with some fruits and vegetables."  "That was some delicious food." said Ball. "You telling me." said Basket. "How'd you know, how good it was? asked Ball. " Because,I went into a-fib while I was eating it." laughed Basket.

Got the mini steering wheel EKG machine? It may not tell you what to eat, but it can certainly tell you when to stop, unless of course...
