What would I suggest, if I were in an authoritative position?
Wow, I never got those types of jobs. The powers that exist in New York State and Westchester County need to take a sort of appraisal of each town and consider it's worth in regards to what it does for the county. If it is found that a town is not able to exist in a way that proves beneficial or as a compliment to each of it's neighboring towns such as, Bronxville, New Rochelle or Pelham ect., then it may be appropriate to take a town such as Mount Vernon, New York and possibly merge it with another town that is capable of providing the necessary resources and funding it takes to keep a town or city viable not only for itself, but for people who live here and for those who may eventually want to move here. For example, a county wide appraisal was taken in Westchester, New York. It was found that many of the schools, fire departments, medical facilities, and even offices of elected officials and places of resources in Mount Vernon were crumbling. "No money or budget to repair most if not all of the issues." said one official. "No quality of life, due to it's oppressive existence." said another official. Other towns were appraised and it was found that by merging Mount Vernon, New York with New Rochelle, Mount Vernon now renamed New Rochelle East and New Rochelle West respectively, were able to rebuild by getting money from the state to fund the new town renovations and by merging it's resources together to replenish and expand the once existing town of Mount Vernon, New York; now called New Rochelle East and New Rochelle West into a larger town that is affordable and safe for those that live there and also a town that one may consider to build businesses and residences. But what about city hall? Hold on! Just as you may have more than one post office, library, police station ect, there can also exist a city hall as designated for New Rochelle East and New Rochelle West, as there can be a YMCA so that the former Mount Vernon, New York can continue on without being interrupted with regards to access for certain services. Mount Vernon, is a small enough town that needs to be included as a town of progress and success for all those that reside here and by the merger of it to New Rochelle East and New Rochelle West, it will prove to be an incentive regarding it's appraisal for the county of Westchester and the state of New York.
