Lent

Lent is the forty day observance of sacrifice, penance and prayer in preparation for Easter. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday (a Wednesday in the month of February) and ends on holy Thursday or on Saturday, the day before Easter. Lent is the commemoration of time leading up to the death of Jesus for sins and his resurrection for salvation.

Do we use this time to make sin a necessary priority for survival or do we create ways to remove sin in essence to establish the basic needs of necessity? If one were to answer that question, we need to first determine our choices. Sin wins because money and other perks lie at the root of temptation. In other words this is not just a cash and carry society. Involved is a system of checks and plastic that manipulate responses of greed and desire that can "overwhelm" one into moral debt.  In doing so, the spiritual aspect of salvation may not save one entirely as a result of sin. Therefore, the remaining sin that is not atoned for is thrust back upon it's people in terms of suffering.  Yes, there is a Jesus for the death of sin and that of salvation. But, the human component of suffering is that of an example of Jesus as to who shoulders the remaining responsibility of sin.

To Lend or Lent something, is to use or borrow when one is without or temporarily in need.  Do we have the right to permanent and exclusive use and abuse of the salvation of Jesus or any one in his likeness? Absoultely not! The world represents that by expousing turmoil that causes greater spiritual challenge and sacrifice on to it's people. It is true that sin can be seen as man made by experiment in evil in attempts to rule the world or an eventual concoction of abuse by indulgence that has over time created a suffering that countries throughout the world continue to endure. To forgive what is wrong we need a sin or something ungodly in order to do so. In doing that salvation is underway for those believers. But, if one were to forget the instances of salvation (in that salvation is a lent instance to lead one to righteousness because Jesus is savior) and create a repetition of sorts by abuse of sin; then are we lending or is salvation or savior being used as a permanent fixture of spirituality that humans can call upon each and every time sin or a problem occurs that needs to be forgiven?

Thus, the forgiveness in a jar is compromised when the decision to "let the door hit you where the good lord split you is made." Those who decide not to observe Lent or the lending of Jesus for salvation in that once you follow his way you will become of devoted ministry; will ultimately succumb to the affliction of the devil. As people bow their heads to pray, lest one forget the honor of the sacrifice.
