Earning a living wage is difficult for many people living or working in the United States. Different careers or jobs require certain sets of skills, knowledge or education. The problem becomes, the fact that many of these jobs are important for people to live and function. Yes, there is such a thing as entertainment or non-essential employment(sports, music, movies, games), but if we were without those things life would never be fun to live or tolerate. They say misery loves company and that is so true. I think that there is a stigma against people who have gone to school or college and it is perceived as people who wasted years of their life drinking, partying and having a good ole time just to get a piece of paper to earn them the opportunity to be gainfully employed. As a result people become resentful of that opportunity and decide to use it to a more teaching setting. If you think that all the worlds a stage then you will find that the employment industry seeks skills that are learned on the job as opposed to studied or learned in an educational setting or institution. Yes, the employment sector is the problem and not the solution to mental disarray in respect to people who are just doing the job or task they are assigned to do, resulting from the teaching setting. The employment industry often wants blood, I gave at the office and then some so in the business of sacrifice, and if all the worlds a stage, that was my education in addition to the formal way of going to school. In many ways this was a way to make us all one or unionized. But then why do those that go through the school, blood or walking of the plank earn a lot less than those who partied, entertained, had offspring without earning that formal education? Where is the equality? We live in a biased world and if education is out of the box then I supposed our teacher will grade us accordingly... Now onto another subject, should America be one employment union in that everyone gets a living wage or it is required along with free healthcare and other benefits including a socialized retirement plan and rent subsidies etc.;those who live in America would be able to pay for their own transportation and buy food. I mean why work when your salary does not afford for you to eat, but then again the teacher will grade us accordingly...
When you are a non-clinical person in the medical field there are things you don't do. For starters, you don't make decision about a patient's care or determine what they receive or do not simply because you don't have the clinical certifications to do so. Non-clinical workers, usually work in the capacity of office support. Now, with office support there are different job scenarios whereby some workers may know all or each and every work detail in an office or department or they may only perform a specific set of functions regarding a particular area or office department. Be that as it may there are times when we can't be all things to all people and for the most part that should not be expected. This should not be perceived as a "Stay b---k and die attitude, what's it worth--really?" Health insurance companies need to understand that the software that they create to orderly implement member, subscriber and provider information should do just that. It is somewhat antiquated to await a letter of approval in the mail when there exists insurance subscriber, provider or facility portals through the health insurance website that allows one to access approval or denial information. If this in not in effect then it should be so that any letter be it approval or denial can be uploaded or created from a template within the health plan software to simplify matters. Once that information is uploaded into the member, subscribers online information chart then they should be able to access it without having to wait for a letter in the mail. Also, health insurance plans need to be able to have an automated phone system that provides member, subscriber approval or denial information once a service is approved or denied. I say this because, remedies the wait time between a physicians decision to approve or deny a service or coverage and the actual sending of the letter by mail. The automated phone system gets stalkers and unstable people off the phone and ensures that vulnerable folks don't have to contact them and have to worry about them just coming by to see what a person looks like, or awaiting for some sweet sexy thing voice to make a sound over the phone. That should not be. Like I said non-clinical people are office support so they usually do the follow-up of said information before and or after a decision has been made so there is no need for them to do the overnight shift or even a swing one because due to technology these non-clinical people should be able to complete such tasks in a timely manner without being accused of being lazy, not a team player(although some of us know know that they actually were the team) or at least that's what they were thought of as. For example: Such a health insurance company receives a request for certain services or procedures to be approved, this request could be mail, e-mail, fax or walk-in. The request is given to a non-clinical person to establish an appeal or request and then reviewed depending on the type of procedure or if it needs to have a medical review established by a nurse or physician authorization versus medical necessity or continuation of services depending on what was requested. If the request does not need to be reviewed by a nurse or physician then the requested services are approved or denied based upon if an authorization exists or not and if the CPT codes can be accepted within that authorization or if the provider or facility has obtained authorization for their services. If a medical service requires the review of a nurse or physician then the request is then given to them by the non-clinical worker. It will go to the nurse then to the physician and they will make the decision of approval or denial. Once this occurs the decision should then be sent to the non-clinical worker who will then create a request for automated response to contact the member, facility or provider with regards to the decision by phone and that response should be sent from within the health plans software so that the same phone message can be translated into a phone notification message for both the member and provider to access. Since this is all done through automation, the letter that still needs to be created and put into the health plans software system can then be created within 24-72 business hours and sent so that those who still don't have computer access can receive such decision by mail minus the urgency that gets created resulting from a decision that has been made and then the contacting of member, facility both by phone and mail. Once the health plan has the software updated and automated if a member is able to receive an automated call(in whatever language they prefer), if a service is approved they can just await to receive the letter as confirmation or log into their member portal for a copy of the phone message. This removes the urgency for those sudden last minute requests for things to be prepared and sent out when the evening's mail has already done it's last pickup, the post office is closed and underpaid workers are just ready to get the you know what up on outta there...
It is understood that urban areas are more populated and therefore public transportation is heavily used. But there comes a time when each bus line should have an express bus service so that those who are taking local stops can ride the local and those who need to get to a certain point or area of the city without all of the local stops can do so by the use of an express bus. Every bus line or route should have one. Express buses should not just be exclusive to Manhattan and 5th Avenue. Also, people come from all over to work in the city, jobs in the city should not be exclusive to people who actually live there. People should have a choice as to where they want to work and not because of where they live etc. Strange, because for several years I had the very unfortunate experience of working in White Plains and Westchester itself is spread out so it really sucked and even from White Plains, it would take me about two hours to get home. You would think it would take a lot less time but depending on where you worked in Westchester and what time you left work your commute home could easily be about two hours. This was the worst because they paid minimum wage pretty much so taking an uber or cab was out of the question and in Fraulein status of such or in regards to it, why would I drive a car to work if I am unable to afford the cost in paying for it? I only earn enough to take the bus or public transportation so that's what I use. Who in their logical mind spoils their rather abusive employer by driving to work? At this point you're asking for it. If the employer does not pay you enough to buy the car without enormous help from somebody, then you don't drive it to work. If you think I'm just gonna up an drive such said car to work knowing full well on the salary you paid me, that I can't afford it(especially at those prices), then you are worthless. In terms of transportation you get clear worth. I don't care if the job is in Westchester or not, the abusive salary and working conditions- I will be on the bus. Speaking of which, I need to have the oil changed, waiting for a real paying job to come along and that does not happen when working for fraud doctors.
I remember way back, when people wore dresses and business suits to work. But for some strange reason when I went to do it they wanted me to look more casual. Why is that? I mean when I wear clothes I can probably wear on the weekend nobody complains. But once I dress in that formal business type of way then you get this "You can be more relaxed." So I do just that I come in more relaxed, so don't nobody complain when I do. But, did I overlook another opportunity of fashion, in that I could have been a petite wearer of clothes, since I looked rather appealing enough for people to want to see me in the relaxed version of clothes. Now, it's true I don't like being management. I'm more of a worker in a cubicle in my own world surrounded by computers and looking for an IT position somewhere in life so that I can truly be grown and support myself. I'm just not a people person. My hobbies are my passion but hey I can just co-exist with the rest of the world, no problem there. But who knows, one day maybe I can actually work from home and not have to worry about what to wear and perhaps a job in IT will do that. I just find it really strange that you know when you want to come in looking good and what not and people just "Like you really relaxed." Is it my brains that they want? I'm not perfect and no one is but, if that's the situation then tell me what my brain is worth and pay me accordingly. Or is that another discussion in that you will tell me "You want a relaxed pay environment."? I don't think I'm difficult to deal with really I'm not but when I dress up, well then I've done bad and then when I don't dress up, then where "is my sense of self?". You want it both ways and to have your cake and eat it while you drive the rest of the people crazy. Really biased that some can come in dressy but others they want that relaxed wear. I'm looking for IT work perhaps I can look relaxed and not worry about being on the runway with my clothes. And of course being a lackey in somebodies medical office you don't need to put on airs that you are really doing anything with yourself, but totally sacrificing. I've been there, those dress clothes can stay in the store.
I wish we could all have jobs that we really like or love to do. There is nothing like going into a place of employment and not wanting to be there and hating everything from the work to the people in the office. I really dislike when people put their ignorance off on others. Not everybody is meant to be a such said physician. You have to have an aptitude for that among other things. Many physicians think they can solve the problem by hiring a lackey of a certain aptitude to do much of the intelligent work for them thus, leaving the dummy physician to do nothing but talk about everything except the patients condition and then the patient who is probably just as dumb as the physician calls and asks this lackey all kinds of questions that should be answered by the physician or discussed with him or her. Let's be real, if you didn't care about all of your health concerns during your visit then why call and bother me about it afterwards? Yes, you are a dumb patient that does not care about your health and equally dumb as a result of the physician you have. I had to get away from what I hated. I don't necessarily agree with the idea of putting ignorance, incompetence, special needs, supremacy all in one bowl for someone to serve people with or rather patients, that's just too much damn work. If the physician does not want to do his or her job as one then they should not be there and you know this by the amount of work the office has to do. Sacrificial physicians, or the office I worked in for many unhappy years are usually frauds because they do not have the intelligence or competence to do the work so they rely on the lackey for such said office. Now, what bothers me about all of this is the fact that people really think that they will be healed of all ailment by having such fraudulent medical offices. By this I mean using some one in sacrifice, God don't like ugly. More about this in the next blog...
