This sounds scary, in that a virus such as the Varicella Zoster Virus can enter the body and cause out breaks of inflammation and can result in facial paralysis, ear damage, vision loss and chronic pain. These are some of the more serious instances that can occur after a shingles outbreak and there is no way to consistently detect it's progression while dormant in a living human being. Since it is difficult to obtain VZV DNA that is dormant; could it be that the Varicella Zoster Virus is really episodic or lytic in similarity to the Rhinovirus, which is just the common cold? The cold is caused by the spread of Rhinovira through the upper respiratory tract. There are four viral proteins of the Rhinovirus and each of these proteins contain epitopes and paratopes that recognize the antibodies in the immune system. As a result the body is able to defend and rid the body by destroying the Rhinovirus which causes the cold, along with over the counter medications, vitamins and other home remedies.
Since viruses can only become active in the body once they come in contact with living tissue is it possible that the VZV virus is not actually a virus that lies dormant but is a virus that occurs if a person is susceptible to it? This could be from a pH balance that is highly acidic, in that a person is more prone to colds and viruses as a result. When the body is more alkaline, that is when it is best able to create a natural defense against viruses and diseases. Colds are spread via person to person or by contaminated areas where Rhinovira are from respiratory excretion. The spread of the Varicella Zoster Virus may not be immune in terms of transmission from certain kinds of contact.
The Varicella Zoster Viruses DNA is not found in it's dormant status and it is diffucult to consider it lysogenic or found as a part of a cell's chromosome, because the virus is not detected as dormant on any one living being. Thus, it can be considered that shingles can occur as a direct and or secondary lytic response as a result of nerve cell damage or when the body's nervous system is affected due to the Varicella Zoster Virus. The VZV virus may enter the body when a person has low pH levels and when the virus comes into contact with the mucous membranes of a person and the
VZV spreads to the nerve cells. One may be immune from the Chickenpox because they have already had it or were vaccinated. But, that may not prevent a person from getting the shingles since some viruses are airborne and can manifest themselves as secondary diseases or strains of a particular virus since the primary virus can no longer be obtained the same way (as in childhood) making the adult strain of chickenpox that of shingles. There is a vaccine to prevent adults from getting the shingles and taking Omega 3 for healthy nerves may be beneficial.
Shingles-what a painful way for adults to face the music!
