EMR software needs to do more by way of being able to compile and import not only the typewritten report of a CT scan or x-ray, but to have the images readily available. What is needed is the EMR HIPAA compliant storage cloud that will allow physicians to send information about a patient to another physician by sending it to the EMR HIPAA compliant storage cloud by fax number so this information can be faxed from one place to another. For exampy: Boring Medicine has just begun using their EMR system, called Get On With It. This EMR system has a storage cloud that allows reports and images to be sent to it via fax. This way front office workers at Boring Medicine can access the HIPAA compliant cloud via the EMR system Get On With It, and can then appropriate reports and imaging from other facilities, hospitals and other physician offices and be able to put those medical records into the patient's EMR chart. Those same reports and images can also be faxed to other physicians and medical facilities via another or if using the same type of EMR HIPAA compliant storage cloud. This eliminates the need for sickly and elderly patients, underpaid nursing assistants, underpaid medical office workers, and people with English as a third, sometimes fourth or fifth language; from having to go from place to place to obtain reports and images because the EMR HIPAA compliant cloud storage by fax can obtain a lot of the work via online or phone fax request through the EMR system. The EMR HIPAA compliant storage cloud- when medicine needs a clear sky!
Several blogs ago I wrote about implementing a device that could be of use in the medical world for foreign or "alternative, origin language". It would prove to be rather useful and should be considered. Now you just have to track that blog down!
